Three Opportunities for the Austin Community to Honor Veterans

On Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11am CST, members of the Austin community will gather at the Cemetery to place wreaths on graves as part of the annual National Wreaths Across America (WAA) Day. During the event, every grave at the Cemetery will be honored with a wreath. This is an amazing tribute as a first-year event for the Cemetery, with 100% of the graves being honored.
There will be 2,978 wreaths to place, so many volunteers are needed to help with this wonderful event.
There are three ways that people can help (please wear gloves):
·         Fri, Dec 16th, 2 to 5pm: Assistance with unloading and unboxing wreaths
·         Sat, Dec 17th, 10am to 2pm: Placing wreaths on graves following WAA ceremony

Suggested Items to bring: Water, Gloves, and Knife or Box Cutters.
If anyone has a vehicle such as a truck or SUV that could be used to move wreath boxes into and out of the cemetery could you please Charlotte Waldrum.

To help with any, or all, of these events, please register at www.WreathsAcrossAmerica.org
WAA thanks Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) for donating the pick-up of boxes and wreaths, as well as recycling and composting services, for this environmentally-conscious event.
