GALER, SHARON A. (1935 ~ 2021). The following is an obituary for Sharon Galer, spouse of Medal of Honor Recipient Robert Edward Galer. The obituary was provided by Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home of Dallas.

Born in Buffalo, NY, to Marion and Hugh Alexander on May 8th, 1935, becoming one of “The Greatest Generation” and died April 3, 2021. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Brigadier General Robert E. Galer and sister Judy Tieman. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Thomas and Lynn Jones, son Chuck Keller and his wife Teri, daughter Chris Brooks and her husband Gary, four grandchildren Hank Keller, Katie Brooks, Robert Brooks, Clint and wife Natalie Keller, and great-grandson Henry Keller.

Sharon was a proud gradate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, attended THE University of Texas and graduated from Dallas Baptist College. She had a successful career in residential real estate focusing on high rise condominium sales, where she met Bob. She was a founding board member of The Turtle Creek Association and The Lee Park & Arlington Hall Conservancy

She loved her family, her friends “the party girls” and loved to travel whether on a cruise ship, Disney World with the family or trips to Hawaii and Palm Springs.

Always the elegant hostess, she loved entertaining at holidays or just for fun.

She is already missed by many and plans to celebrate her life will be held at Church of the Incarnation on April 15th at 10:00 and afterwards in the Turtle Room at 3525 Turtle Creek.

If you wish, please make a donation in her honor to the Church of the Incarnation, The Turtle Creek Association or a charity of your choice.
