| BOLDING, FELIX GRUNDY (1842 ~ 1919). Confederate veteran Felix Grundy Bolding was born in 1842 in Mississippi to John Porter and Lucretia Warnock Bolding.
Felix Bolding joined Company D, Moreland's Regiment, Alabama Cavalry on September 1, 1864 and served until the end of the Civil War. He joined the unit at Warrens Mill near his home which was close to the Alabama border. Moreland's Regiment served in and around Alabama and Mississippi.
Bolding moved to Texas in 1867. On February 29, 1869 he married the former Susan Jane Wear and settled in Williamson County to become a farmer. He entered the Confederate Men's Home in 1917, a year before his wife passed away.
He died June 22, 1919 and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery the following day. |
