| FLOOD, JOHN(1833~1890). John Flood was born in Ireland in 1833. He came to Texas in 1857 and worked as a general laborer.
On August 13, 1861, Flood enlisted in Company F, 1st Regiment Texas Heavy Artillery. He served under R. W. “Dick” Dowling during the War. It was reported that Flood deserted January 8, 1864, at Sabine Pass.
Following the War, he resided in Houston and was admitted to the Confederate Men’s Home in Austin on November 7, 1889. John Flood died on January 24, 1890 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
