TAYLOR, FRANCIS MARION (1844 ~ 1932). Confederate veteran Francis Marion "Frank" Taylor was born on October 22, 1844 in Kentucky to Joseph Taylor and Ann Rose Taylor, both of Kentucky. Taylor moved to Texas in 1861.

Taylor enlisted in the Confederate Army in July 17, 1863. He was enrolled in Company C, 30th Texas Cavalry. The 30th Texas Cavalry served during the Red River Campaign and the battles of Mansfield and Pleasant Hill. Taylor remained with the unit until the close of the Civil War.

Taylor married a Rosetta Taylor on January 18, 1885 in Nolan County, Texas. She was born July 10, 1863. By 1911, Taylor lived in Crystal City, Zavala County, Texas when he applied for a Confederate Pension. The pension was granted the following year.

Taylor entered the Confederate Men's Home in Austin at an unknown time, but it is known that he was a widower when he moved in. He died at the Home on July 22, 1932 in the afternoon and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery the next day.
