TUNNELL, BETTE JEAN LEMONS (1927 ~ 1988). Bette Jean Lemons Tunnell, wife of former Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Byron M. Tunnell, was born on May 19, 1927, in Arkansas, but moved to Tyler, Texas when she was 5.

After marrying Byron M. Tunnell, she was a stay-at-home mom and was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. She passed away on October 8, 1988, and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery two days later.
