NASH, CHARLES DURHAM, JR. (CHUCK) (1951 ~ ). Charles Nash, Jr. was born March 19, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Charles D. Nash, Sr. and Dorothy Moore Nash. Mr. Nash was educated in Austin public schools and graduated Austin High School in 1969 and attended San Angelo State University and St. Edwards University.

He was a member of Texas Air National Guard for six years. Mr. Nash was appointed in March 1987 by Governor Bill Clements to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission and was appointed Chairman, Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission by Governor Clements in July 1988. He served on the Parks and Wildlife Commission from 1987-1993.

Prior to his tenure on the Parks and Wildlife Commission, he was Hays County Chairman for the campaigns of Bill Clements and George Bush in 1978-1979. In 1980, Mr. Nash was an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention for George Bush. In addition, he was Regional Chairman for Bill Clement's campaign in 1982 and Hays County Chairman to re-elect Governor Clements from 1985-1986.

Mr. Nash was appointed in August 1987 as Chairman of Vice-President Bush's Presidential Campaign. The United States Secretary of Interior appointed him to the National Parks Advisory Board in 1989. In 1991, he was named a trustee, to the Parks and Wildlife Foundation of Texas.

He has contributed to many civic and community activities including the Board of Directors, Seton Hospital Development Foundation; President, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce; Chairman, San Marcos Airport Commission; Chairman, San Marcos River Foundation; Director, First National Bank of San Marcos; Director, Southwest Texas Development Board; Chairman, Boy Scout Fundraiser in Hays County; and Chief of Naval Operations for Admiral Club.

Mr. Nash is Area Director of Texas Automobile Dealers Association and is President, Chuck Nash Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Buick, Geo, Jeep, Eagle, Inc.
