HEATH, MAVIS BARNETT (1908~1998) Mavis Barnett Heath, wife of William Womack Heath, was born February 14, 1908, in Bedias, Texas to William F. Barnett and Bettie Stuart Barnett. She was educated in Grimes County and attended the College of Industrial Arts for Women in Denton, Texas.

On July 14, 1929 she married William Heath. She was a schoolteacher in Grimes County and was devoted to her husband and family. The families were close friends with Lyndon Johnson and Lady Bird and were instrumental in bringing the LBJ Library to the University of Texas. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church and was a member of the Helping Hand.
