TERRELL, ETTA MAE SOWARD (1865 ~ 1960). Etta Mae Soward Terrell, spouse of Charles Vernon Terrell, was born in 1865 to unknown parents. She married Charles Vernon Terrell, State Senator and Member of the Texas Railroad Commission on August 9, 1893. She was a teacher in Decatur, Texas at the time. The couple had two sons, John Preston Terrell of Austin and Tully Vernon Terrell of New Gulf, and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Ward of Austin. Charles Terrell died in Austin on November 17, 1959 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery. Etta Terrell died on March 30, 1960 and was buried at the Cemetery five days later.
