WHITE, ETOILE O'BANNON (1907 ~ 2012). The following is an obituary for Etoile O'Bannon White, spouse of Nola White who was buried at the Texas State Cemetery under a governor's proclamation.

Etoile O'Bannon White, 104 years, was born in November 20, 1907 to James Thomas O'Bannon and Alice Young O'Bannon in Harperville, Mississippi. She passed on to be with our Heavenly Father, February 8, 2012.

Etoile was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Nola White; her son, John Edward White in 1992; and her son-in-law, Charles G. Miertschin in 2007.

Etoile is survived by her family: Ernestine White Miertschin, daughter; two grandsons, Michael White Miertschin and Matthew Charles Miertschin and wife, Lisa Ann Miertschin; two "great and grand" great grandchildren, Devin White Miertschin and Mattison Christine Miertschin.

Etoile and Nola settled in Beaumont, Texas after their marriage in 1940 where Nola practiced law for thirty seven years until their move to Austin, Texas in 1967 where Nola became Texas' First Assistant Attorney General. Their last move was to El Paso, Texas across the street from "The Miertschin's".

Etoile enjoyed to the fullest being an exceptionally great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She excelled in homemaking, china painting, needle craft, and being our "Maw Maw"!

The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Scottsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie, at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the Texas State Cemetery, the Historic Cemetery for Officials of the State of Texas, in Downtown Austin, Texas where Nola has rested for twelve years.

Special thanks to Dr. James Gibson and his staff for the special care they provided Etoile.
