No Portrait Available Headstone Text McKnight Peyton December 10, 1924 December 22, 1995 Ann Cade July 28, 1926 Back of headstone Peyton McKnight Served in World War II Flying 55 Combat Missions Recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross - Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters and European Theatre Ribbon with Seven Battle Stars. His Bomb Group, the 463rd, was awarded the French Croix de Guerre for their part in the Liberation of France. Member of the Texas House of Representatives 1949 - 1950 Member of the Texas State Senate 1972 - 1983 Board of Regents - Texas A & M University System Member of the Sons of the American Revolution 32 Degree Mason - Shriner United States Marshal - Appointed by President Dwight Eisenhower
