"On June 29, 2009 D. H. "Buck" Buchanan passed away peacefully and has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During his lifetime, he faithfully served his country in WWII in the European Theater. After the war he was elected by the constituents of Gregg County to two terms in the Texas House of Representatives. He went on to be the first County Court of Law Judge of Comal County and after retiring from the bench, spent many years in private practice.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janette; his two sons Byron and James; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed.

A graveside service will be Thursday, July 2,2009 at 10 a.m. at Texas State Cemetery in Austin.

In lieu of flowers, the Buchanan family asks that any donations be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas."
