State Senator Kenneth Kimberlin 'Kim' Brimer, Jr.
Former Texas State Senator Kenneth Kimberlin 'Kim' Brimer, Jr. was born March 5, 1945, in Houston, Texas. A fifth-generation Texan who served the families of Tarrant County in both the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives from 1989 - 2008. His family roots include notables George Campbell Childress, the author of the Texas Declaration of Independence, John B. Connally Jr., the 38th Governor of the State of Texas, and John Nance Garner IV, 32nd Vice President of the U. S. and General Robert E. Lee, CSA.
He married Janna Kay (Patton) Brimer. The Brimer’s were blessed with five children, all college graduates and ten grandchildren. Senator Brimer is a former collegiate scholarship football player and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. Brimer has also served in the U. S. Air Force Reserve and Texas Air National Guard where he received an Honorable Discharge in 1975. As a businessman he established and was President of American Insurance Agency, Inc. which he sold in 2001 after a 26-year career in which he carried a Certified Insurance Counselor designation.
