CLARK, GRADY CURTIS (1918~1996) Grady Curtis Clark, Jr. was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 2, 1918, the first of two children born to Grady Curtis and Mary Dunaway Clark. After attending Corpus Christi public schools Mr. Clark graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1934. After graduation he attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1939 with a Business Administration degree. Wanting to continue his education Mr. Clark attended Columbia University in New York working an a degree in Psychology. In 1941, Mr. Clark was drafted as a private in the Air Force and was discharged as a captain in November 1945. His first wife was Joy Clark and his second wife was Dr. Adreain Ross Clark. Mr. Clark was in his element as a businessman. He served as General Partner of ESCO, Ltd. a wholesale agribusiness company in Corpus Christi, Texas. From 1956-1960 he served as campaign manager for John Young, Democratic Congressman from Texas and served as Administrative Assistant to Young in Corpus Christi. In 1962, he was appointed by the Federal Court as Grain and Farm consultant and trustee for the Bankruptcy Estate of Billy Sol Estes. Since 1965, he has served as director and executive committee member of Parkdale State Bank in Corpus Christi, Texas. He served as Chairman to the State Seed and Plant Board, President of the Kiwanis Club in Corpus Christi, President of the Seedmens Association, and President of the South Texas Country Elevator and Grain Association."
