WRIGHT, LAURA JEAN HARCROW (1931 ~ 2009). The following is an obituary for Laura Jean Harcrow Wright, spouse of Texas Ranger Captain James Alvis Wright. The obituary was published in the July 1, 2009 edition of the Waco Tribune-Herald.

"Laura Harcrow Wright, 78, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at her home in Robinson. Burial will be by cremation. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at the First Baptist Church in Hewitt, Brother Roy Marshall officiating. Laura was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Motley County, Texas. She grew up in Fort Worth, and graduated from Polly High School.

She married James A. Wright on Feb. 19, 1949. She was an artist with many beautiful paintings to her credit. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Wright; grandchildren, Steven Wright and Ann Wright Backus. She is survived by her husband; her son, James R. 'Jimmy' Wright and wife, Phyllis; daughter-in-law, Verna Beth Wright and her grandson, James Matthew Wright and wife, Brandie; nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
