THIEMER, CHRISTIAN (1827 ~ 1910). Christian Thiemer was born in Germany in 1827.

An excerpt from Reminiscences of the Boys in Gray, 1861-1865 Thiemer states he: "enlisted in the Confederate Army at the age of 34 at Galveston, Texas, as private in Company B, in Cook's heavy artillery. My first Captain was Coura, and first Major was Cook."

Thiemer moved to Texas 1860 and lived in Galveston, Galveston County where he was a member of the Catholic Church. He was married, but no record of his wife's name has been found.

Thiemer suffered from rheumatism and old wounds before he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on April 4, 1901. He died at the Home on June 23, 1910 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery.
