FARABEE, KENNETH RAY (1932 ~ ). Ray Farabee served the State of Texas as one of its most distinguished lawyers and legislators in a career that spanned five decades. Farabee was born November 22, 1932 in Wichita Falls and went on to get his BBA and J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

He served as a State Senator from 1975 - 1988 and authored 245 Senate bills and 138 House bills that became law. He was constantly rated as among the best legislators in Texas by state publications and was credited with updating the Texas Mental Health Code and made improvements to the juvenile and criminal justice systems.

While serving as a Senator, Farabee also maintained a successful law practice in Wichita Falls.

He married Helen Farabee and had two children. After her death in 1988, he married Mary Margaret Farabee.
