LANDRETH, W. H. (1836 ~ 1910). Confederate veteran W.H. Landreth was born Virginia in 1836.

During the Civil War he served in Company I, 10th Texas Infantry. The 10th was organized in the fall of 1861. The 10th was captured at Arkansas Post on January 11, 1863. Those men that were not captured were consolidated into the Army of Tennessee. The 10th Infantry participated in many battles including Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Missionary Ridge, Atlanta, Franklin, and Nashville.

Landreth moved to Texas in 1852 and lived in Bryan, Brazos County where he was a member of the Baptist Church. He was not married and his profession was a grover before he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home on February 5, 1893, where he died May 3, 1910.
