JOHNSON, HENRY CLAY (1844 ~ 1912). Henry Clay Johnson was born in Mississippi to Mayfield Johnson, his father. He was married on Dec. 1, 1875 in Bastrop County, near Elgin. Millie Jane Johnson was born in 1855 in Montgomery County, Alabama. Henry served in Co. H. 3rd Louisiana Infantry, Captain Peck's Cavalry, Harrison's Brigade of the 3rd La. Regiment. His pension record is number 13696 (Bastrop) . He died in Travis County on January 8, 1912 and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery shortly after. He was about 68 years old when he died. His death cetificate number is 2749.
