ADAMS, SAMUEL B. (1843~1913) Samuel B. Adams, Confederate Veteran, was born in Louisiana in 1843. On May 27, 1861, Adams enlisted as a private in Company G of the 15th Mississippi Infantry in Corinitta, Mississippi. Not much is known about his experiences during the War, other than he was taken prisoner when the 15th Mississippi Infantry surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865. He was later paroled at Grenada, Mississippi on May 18.

In 1873, Adams moved to Texas and settled in Montgomery County, where he was a farmer. On October 31, 1910, complaining of stomach trouble, Adams moved into the Confederate Men's Home in Austin. He lived at the Home until his death on September 14, 1913.
