HOWARD, CHARLES FRANKLIN (1942 ~ 2017). The following is an obituary for Texas House Member Charles Franklin "Charlie" Howard. The obituary was published in the Fort Bend Independent.

Former Sugar Land State Rep. Charlie Howard, a Republican, passed away on May 2. He was born on May 30, 1942.

Graveside Service was held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Texas State Cemetery 909 Navasota St. in Austin.

Howard is survived by wife Jo, son Chad and daughter Julie.

A meeting in celebration of his life was held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land.

Howard was a member of the Texas House of Representatives since 1995. He served as Executive Vice President and Operating Officer of Sugarland Properties, which developed the First Colony master-planned community. In 2013, Charlie chose not to seek re-election due to health issues.
