FISHER, WILLIAM P. (1840~1921) William P. Fisher was born in Arkansas in 1834. He enlisted in Company F, 2nd Arkansas Cavalry, in 1862 at Hamburg, Arkansas. The 2nd Arkansas Cavalry participated in the several battles including Iuka, Corinth, and Hatchie Bridge. Following the War, he moved to Texas in 1872 and became a farmer. His residence at the time he was admitted to the Confederate Men's Home was in Rosebud, Texas. Fisher entered the Confederate Men's Home on October 30, 1911, and suffered from blindness. William P. Fisher died December 1, 1920, and was buried at the Texas State Cemetery on December 2, 1920.
