LEIDNER, ANTONIO S. (1819~1896) Antonio S. Leidner, Confederate veteran, was born in Austria in 1819. Upon immigrating to the United States and Texas in 1853, he worked as a gardner.

At the outbreak of the War, he joined the Confederacy and fought with Company F of Quigley's Texas Battalion, which was a part of Waul's Brigade. Sometime during the War, Leidner was wounded. Other than that, no information is known about his military service.

After the War, he appears to have settled in Harris County, until June 23, 1887, when he moved to Austin to the Confederate Men's Home. Leidner stayed in the Home until his death on October 17, 1896. He was buried in the Texas State Cemetery shortly after.
